Four Seasons - NewsFour Seasons Maintenance wins 5 Year Contract.

We are delighted to have won a 5 year maintenance contract with a multi million pound semi conductor company.

STMicroelectronics is one of the world’s largest and successful semiconductor companies.

5 years ago JCW Air Conditioning were commissioned to design and install the air conditioning systems at ST Microelectronics research and development centre at Aztec West Bristol and since completion of the project, have provided full building services maintenance.

Following completion of the initial 5 year contract at Bristol, the client chose to put the contract out to competitive tender which also included the opportunity to price for a similar office complex in Edinburgh. Both offices are of a suitable size that a full time site based operative is required to stay on top of the general service requirements and mobile engineers used for the specialist services.

The contract was successfully tendered and presented under the Four Seasons Maintenance banner and we have been rewarded with a 5 year maintenance contract covering both the Bristol and Edinburgh sites.

Four Seasons - NewsFour Seasons Group achieves ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditation.
ISO 9001 is the world’s most established quality framework, which sets the standard not only for quality management systems, but management systems in general. In addition, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 are designed to be compatible with other management systems standards and specifications, such as BS OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety and can be integrated seamlessly through Integrated Management.

Our ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditation assessment was carried out over two days and incorporated off site interrogation of our systems, files and physical inspection of our ongoing processes including live projects, filing, archiving, reporting and technical libraries amongst many other day to day systems centered around quality and environmental assurance.

Well done to our Royston office staff in particular who have led the way in adopting modifications and processes required to comply with these standards in a positive and progressive manor throughout the last six months.

Four Seasons Group have passed both standards of the ISO quality and environmental assurance systems with no non-conformities..

Four Seasons - NewsFSG installs new Energy Control System across a large clothing retail store portfolio
Four Seasons Group subsidiaries Berkeley Environmental Services Ltd. (BES) and Four Seasons Installation have combined their extensive experience and technical knowledge in the building controls and HVAC industries to develop a low cost but powerful Energy Control Solution specifically for the retail sector.

The FSG Energy Controls System is supplied, designed, programmed, installed, tested and commissioned by BES.

The Energy Control Panel is designed around a Cylon BMS architecture and software. The programming and strategy is designed to manipulate the key HVAC plant and lighting systems to ensure that their energy consumption is controlled under a defined strategy. The Energy Control System communicates with the various plant types via RS485 Modbus protocol. Modbus protocol is utilized where possible as it is a very low cost communication method compared to traditional BACNET BMS interfaces, which would render nearly every installation uneconomical to implement. Modbus is a simple 2 wire screened network whereby each item under control has a unique address for communication.

The FSG Energy Control System runs and controls independently. It is a closed loop control system which does not need any external communications with the remote web server to function day to day. It’s a standalone system with a Web Enabled monitoring function to allow remote monitoring, adjustment, error reporting with energy and environmental performance data collation features.

Based on data on different retail outlets our energy control solution has achieved monthly energy savings of between 7.5% and 42% of the total electricity bill. The average monthly saving was 24% per month for the first 6 months of 2011.

Four Seasons - NewsNew HVAC installations at the Thistle Marble Arch
Four Seasons Group subsidiary, JCW, have recently completed the R22 system replacement at The Thistle Hotel Marble Arch to the 1st and 2nd Floors, as part of a long term refurbishment plan for the Hotel in the coming 2 years. This project required accelerated works to ensure the AC was completed within the 5 day period allowed for the installation. JCW achieved this by allocating sufficient labour, with defined tasks to complete the works. This project also utilised all of JCW’s technical knowledge, with the requirement for multiple deliveries and poor roof access meaning all condenser units had to be constructed on site during each phase, along with all existing electrical supplies being upgraded to each condenser.

JCW have recently completed the installation of a small DX Split system and extract ventilation system to the Thistle Hotel Marble Arch’s executive Guests’ Lounge. This was part of a fast paced refurbishment to the space because of the type of clientele utilising the area. The project involved close co-ordination with the Main Contractor undertaking the project, and also the client’s management team because of JCW’s works out side of the refurbishment areas.

JCW were part of a team undertaking a substantial refurbishment to the Thistle Hotel Marble Arch’s Bar and Restaurant, where JCW undertook the installation of 2 new VRV Systems, along with the bar extract system, kitchen supply air system and substantial ductwork modifications to existing systems to allow the client to achieve the aesthetics they required for the space. The VRV systems were designed to provide a minimum of 50% system operation to both areas if any system failed. The project was carried out to an accelerated programme because of issues surrounding existing building services and infrastructure, with JCW having to carry out quick turn round design calculations to ensure none of the required facilities were affected. The project handed over on time and received very positive feedback from the hotel staff utilising the space.
