Controlling the exchange of fresh air is critical to ensuring optimum performance of your air conditioning and heating systems, creating the necessary internal surroundings to increase the comfort of the room occupants.

Building occupants require a minimum amount of fresh air to breathe. This figure is typically 8-10 litres per second per person, which is rarely more than 10-20% of total airflow in a ducted air system for an office. Natural ventilation can be achieved with operable windows when the spaces to ventilate are small  however noise pollution can be an issue and most new buildings are heavily insulated with sealed windows to eliminate heat loss, preventing natural ventilation. Poor ventilation creates an unhealthy  environment which can cause staff to become de-motivated and lower moral.

By installing a HVAC system we are able to monitor the ventilation process, controlling indoor air quality and remove excess humidity by introducing outside air instead of circulating stagnant air. Mechanical ventilation can reduce running costs as closely controlled ventilation requires less energy to heat or cool incoming air.
